What is NLP?
Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
NLP is the study of how our minds work, how we interact with it and how that results in
certain behaviours. This enables us to improve our thinking, reactions and emotions. In other words,
we take much greater control of our lives and accomplish much more of what we want.

What is Gestalt therapy?
Gestalt therapy is a client-centered approach to psychotherapy that helps clients focus on the present and understand what is happening in their lives right now, rather than what they may perceive to be happening based on experience. Instead of simply talking about past situations, clients are encouraged to experience them, perhaps through re-enactment. Through the gestalt process, clients learn to become more aware of how their negative thought patterns and behaviours are blocking true self-awareness and making them unhappy.
I like the positive approach of gestalt therapy looking at human behaviour as a creative adjustment, rather than sickness and diagnosis. Diagnosis is important to set to know what you are working with; this helps to know what tools to use to support a person’s wellbeing and find a way to manage life in a best possible way.
